This floral magic wand was designed for a friend to take to a music festival. A Lilypad switch, Lilypad battery pack, and tricolor LED were used for the electronics. Originally, an Adafruit Gemma M0 was going to be used because of its capacitive touch capabilities and a few iterations of a 3D printed holder for the Gemma were created. I ended up breaking the only battery pack I had for the Gemma and decided to simplify the design and use a tricolor cycling LED instead.
One big takeaway from this mini project: Lilypad electronics aren't just for sewable circuits. The small, light-weight electronic components are easy to solder together and can be easily incorporated into whatever you happen to be crafting.
